
The idea was to bring a piece of New York to any location at a whim. Not just any part of New York, but the rustic setting that is the tenements rooftop. The result is the pigeons coop presentation by Staple Design for its apparel lines Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. The idea took two years to complete, mostly because of its clothing, according to Jeff Staple, founder and owner of the creative agency and brand. Completely re-diesgined with new sourcing, the clothing features many of the familiar Staple theme, yet with more concise silhouette and cut. Then there is pigeon coop, designed by Staple and constructed by specialists at Seattle.

Last night at an intimate event at Ryerson University, Danier CEO Jeffrey Wortsman announced Meagan Johnston as the winner of the 2011 Danier Design Challenge, a competition that pitted Johnston, who has a fine arts background, against almost 60 of her classmates and saw her taking home a prize of $5,000, as well as a paid internship with the Canadian leather brand.

Theres nothing like starting another year with a innovative beauty product that I love! This year its Laura Geller’s Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner Duo. The duo includes a rich black and a deep purple that really do what they say and couldnt be easier to apply.The packaging is quite nice and very unique you simply pull the brush on the top out and flip it upside down. Next, click it back into the inkwell cap and then you have a longer application brush that is very easy to hold. With this brush I was able to do the traditional Cat eye and make a thicker line that flicked upwards, as well as the new trend, the Kitten eye which is a shorter, slightly thinner line on the top lash line, angled a little higher. Chinese industrial designer Leo Yui designed a multi-purpose stackable vase meant to have a life after the flowers have wilted. This is a beautiful object that can be used in many different ways. I would love to also see a version with some color.
